1) The Contract
All persons applying for Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary (The Lupus Foundation)
volunteer programs must complete and sign enrolment and indemnity forms.
In the case of minors, the legal parents or legal guardian must sign.
The person or persons who have signed the forms are hereafter referred
to as the clients and/or applicants. The client agrees to be bound by
these application conditions. No agent, representative or client of Tsitsikamma
Wolf Sanctuary has any right to alter, vary or waive any of these conditions.
This contract, by whoever it is made and wherever it is made, is subject
to and shall be governed and construed according to South African law.
2) Costs
The charge for a wildlife experience at the Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary
is R3000-00 per month, which covers meals and accommodation only. Should
volunteers elect to stay less than one month (4 weeks), the costs are
worked out pro-rata.
3) Meals
The Tsitsikamma wolf sanctuary provides three simple meals per day. Breakfast:
Toast, Cereal and tea/coffee; Lunch:A light sandwich tea/coffee; Dinner:
A simple cooked evening meal tea/coffee. The volunteer must purchase any
other refreshments required.
4) Accommodation
The Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary provides very simple rustic accommodation.
Each student/volunteer is responsible for keeping his/her room neat and
tidy at all times. Bathing and kitchen facilities are also available.
5) Payment / Acceptance of Application
Signed and completed enrolment and indemnity forms must be sent to Tsitsikamma
Wolf Sanctuary to qualify for our program. Once Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary
approves an application and receives the client's non-refundable 50% deposit,
confirmation of acceptance into the program will be sent to the client
via e-mail. The balance of the program price is payable in full on arrival
at Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary. If the balance is not paid by the due date,
Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary reserves the right to disqualify the applicant.
If an applicant applies a month or less before the start of the volunteer
program, then the full price is payable at time of application.
6) Cancellation / Change by Client
Any notification of cancellation must be in writing. The date on which
Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary or its agents receive the letter will determine
the cancellation charges applicable. In the event of cancellation the
following charges apply: more than 30 days before departure 50% of fee
retained, less than 30 days before departure 100% of fee retained.
7) Cancellation by Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary
Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary reserves the right to cancel the volunteer
program. In the event of the program being cancelled for whatever reason,
the client may receive a full refund of all moneys paid. No further liability
by Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary to the client with regard to the cancellation
will arise.
8) Unused Services
In the event of a client failing to join a program, joining after departure,
or leaving prior to completion, Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary will accept
no refunds or liability.
9) Changes
Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary does not accept any liability arising out of
changes to itineraries, or any other matters relating to the program,
due to factors outside its control. These factors include wars, strikes,
weather, political disputes, border closures, delayed flights, etc. Any
expenses incurred by the client arising out of these changes are for their
own account.
10) Travel Documents
All clients must be in possession of medical/travel insurance, a valid
passport, together with any necessary visas or required vaccinations,
and the client accepts full responsibility for obtaining the same. Any
information or advice given by Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary or its agents
with regard to the above is given in good faith, but Tsitsikamma Wolf
Sanctuary can accept no responsibility for the information given. Should
a client be refused entry to any country due to incorrect or incomplete
documentation, Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary will not be held liable for
any costs of such delays or repatriation costs for the client.
11) Authority on Tour
The client accepts that at all times the decisions of the authorities
will be final on all matters likely to endanger the safety and well being
of the client.
12) Unsuitability
During a program should a client, in the sole opinion of Tsitsikamma Wolf
Sanctuary or its duly authorized representative, be considered unsuitable
for the program for any reason including, but not limited to, being in
contravention of any customs or laws of South Africa or causing inconvenience
or annoyance to other clients, Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary may disqualify
the applicant. In such circumstances, transportation to the nearest town
will be provided. Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary will not be liable to make
any refund to the client, and no other liability by Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary
to the client will arise.
13) Limitation of Liability
Client bookings are accepted on the understanding by the client that certain
risks exist as an inherent part of travel in South Africa, and clients
undertake the Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary program and any associated expeditions
entirely at their own risk. While Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary takes every
precaution to ensure the safety of clients, no responsibility can be accepted
for any death, injury or loss that might occur to such clients, sustained
from any causes whatsoever. The client and his/her dependents, heirs,
executors, administrators or assigns, hereby indemnify and hold blameless,
Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary, its members, employees, representatives and
agents from any claims of any nature and from any liability for delay,
loss, damage, injury, illness or death arising from any cause whatsoever
out of events related to or occurring during a program.
14) Price Increase
Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary reserves the right to increase program prices,
although prices are fixed once the deposit is paid.
15) Defamation of Character
Any client found to be defaming the Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary programs
or the character of any program personnel will immediately be asked to
leave the program without a refund from Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary.
16) Excursions
Clients participating in excursions at Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary programs
do so at their own risk.
I hereby agree to be bound by the aforementioned application conditions.
I further declare that the enrolment information submitted by me is complete
and accurate. I realize that any false declaration by me would render
any claim whatsoever void and I could further be liable for prosecution
by the laws governing South Africa.
I understand that any activities undertaken during the Tsitsikamma Wolf
Sanctuary program is at my/his/her own risk and hereby indemnify Tsitsikamma
Wolf Sanctuary against any claims whatsoever that may arise in connection
with any injury, loss or damage during the activities at each destination
or transport to and from each destination, in the knowledge that the program
leaders will take all reasonable precautions for the safety and welfare
of the participants. I understand that costs in respect of any accident
or illness which, in the opinion of the authorities, requires medical
attention, are my liability.
